Smart HID bulbs out perform* standard halogen bulbs by 3 to 1 by producing a daylight balanced light, which is measured as white light. The measurement used for calculating the purity of the light source is Colour Temperature, which is a measured in Degrees Kelvin (k) and reflects the colours of the spectrum, 'k' indicates the hue of a specific type of light source. A standard krypton bulb produces a Colour Temperature (CT) of 2000k and is in the Red zone of purity,. the halogen bulb produces a CT of around 3000k (Yellow zone) whilst the average noon day sun is measured at 5500k and is measured as white light.
