I set out on a six hour training ride in the middle of winter. I have to brave all manner of cold, icy, wet and windy conditions.

At the furthest point on the ride I am 40-50 miles from home. I need to be able to rely on the clothing I am wearing.

High viz strips, security pocket on left rear pocket and front left breast ensure maximum practicality and function on long rides.

Extra long sleeves eliminate gaps and maintain warmth.

It is my job and livelihood to train in harsh conditions, but the price is high for mistakes.

I wear a full winter training jacket as my outer layer, with high collar to stop cold wind down my chest, fleece inside to give me that warmth I need and wind stopper down length of my arm and over front portion of body to protect and insulate me from my environment.

Combined with a good base layer I have the confidence to embark on these epic rides wearing this jacket as I am safe in the knowledge it will not let me down!
